Amy Rose

Well, I finally did it.  I ordered a JID from Iplehouse in Korea on the 3rd of May, figuring it would get here sometime in July.  Orders are said to take 50 - 60 days to fill.  I got a shipping notice from them on the 9th of May and about 4 days later she arrived.  I'm thrilled with her.  This isn't exactly the wig I had envisioned for her, but it will do until I can find what I want.  I love her smile with just the little bit of teeth showing.

She is about 43 CM tall, which is kinda tall for me.  I just finished sewing up some sister dresses for her and little Sarah Jane.  I found this fabric while on an outing to Waunakee, Wisconsin over the weekend.  I think I'll be doing a few more sister outfits.

I have to put sewing aside for now.  We're off to the Tonner Convention in Lombard, Illinois for the rest of the week.  It's a great time to connect with friends that we only get to see once a year.  When we return, it'll be back to the machine for a show in Naperville the 10th of June and then on to Neenah, Wisconsin for the Oldenburg Convention.  Such a busy time for us.

Owls

Isn't she something?  This is or was Minnie Mouse by Paulette Goodreau.  She was the convention doll about a year and a half ago at the Creedy/Goodread convention.  She originally had black hair styled to look like 2 little ears.  She was dressed in red and white polka dots and she was adorable.  I changed her wig to red and she's happy as a red head.  I also had to have her eyes changed, as one cracked.  She now has really pretty blue eyes.

She is wearing a little pink body suit and a skirt printed with little bright colored owls.  I found this fabric and immediately thought of a dolly friend of mine who is passionate about owls.  The scale was just right for Minnie.  I added a little pair of matching pink socks and outfit complete.  She's already to go on to our next show.

Libby's Debut

I don't think that Libby has graced the bog yet, so I'm introducing Libby today.  She is a 13 inch Little Darling sculpt handpainted by Dianna Effner.  She is quite something.  She is all vinyl and she has no elbos or knee joints.  Old School!  I bought her because I just adore Dianna's work.  Nobody can paint eyes like she can.  I had a lady at a doll show once argue with me that they were glass eyes.  They are absolutely gorgeous.  Anyway - enjoy Libby.

Ivy has overalls

Finally, after almost a year, Ivy has some overalls.  She was getting kinda tired of wearing dresses all the time.  I found this piece of fabric with Snoopy on it and the scale of the print was just right for her.  The little polka dot body suit and matching socks really complete the outfit.  She's all ready to do some serious gardening or whatever.  I think they turned out kinda cute.  I think I'll be making more.
